Nadia Afzal

Executive Director

Nadia Afzal is the founding director of Sabeel Community. She practices dentistry in addition to supporting multiple efforts to serve the community. Nadia also sits on the board of WellSpring Foundation, a non-profit that serves those in financial need for which Dr. Walead also serves as an advisor. 

Ahmet Tekelioglu

Board Secretary

Ahment Tekelioglu is a founding member of Sabeel Community. He holds a PhD in Political Science with particular focus on the American religious landscape. He currently serves as executive director of a Muslim-American civil rights and advocacy organization. 

Khaled Refai 

Board Treasurer

Khaled Refai serves as the treasurer of Sabeel Community. He is also currently the Director of Operations for a mental health practice. He holds a Masters in Management and is involved in multiple entrepreneurial initiatives. 

Hena Cebeci

Communications Secretary

Hena Cebeci is a founding member of Sabeel Community. She holds a medical degree and is currently a physician in training. She supports community efforts to share sacred knowledge. 

Fouad Elgohari 

Instructor

Fouad Elgohari serves as the co-manager of the Sabeel Community hub in Southern California. He also serves as a lecturer alongside Dr. Mosaad at The Majlis, a local initiative founded on offering traditional learning in the American context.

Shereen Youssef

California Hub Co-Manager

Shereen Youssef serves as the co-manager of the Sabeel Community hub in Southern California. She holds an Executive Masters in Business in Strategic & Organizational Leadership. She is the founding director for a nonprofit dedicated to children with cancer and supports organizations, such as The Majlis, and various other projects dedicated to education and community service. 

Aziza Khalil

Egypt Hub Co-Manager

Aziza Khalil serves as the co-manager of the Sabeel Community hub in Egypt. She is an experienced researcher in the telecom industry. She also supports Bustan as-Salam, an organization in Cairo committed to personal growth through seeking sacred knowledge for which Dr. Walead also serves as a lecturer. 

Ismail Khairy

Egypt Hub Co-Manager

Ismail Khairy serves as the co-manager of the Sabeel Community hub in Egypt. He is a project and plant manager in the manufacturing field. He also serves as the co-founding chairman of Bustan as-Salam.       

Nelly Elmenshawy

Nelly Elmenshawy serves as a team member of Sabeel Community. She is an educator and children’s author. She is currently pursuing a degree in Islamic Psychology.

Shehzad Malik

Shehzad Malik serves as a team member of Sabeel Community. He practices Cardiology in addition to serving his community as a board member of the WellSpring Foundation. 

Neisrein Mahmoud

Neisrein Mahmoud serves as a team member of Sabeel Community.  She also serves her community as the founder of a behavioral and mental health practice in New Jersey.
